The Area
Kent continues to provide the ideal balance for the commuting family, with its excellent (and improving) transport links, fine grammar and independent schools and remarkably unspoilt countryside. The A21 Corridor from Sevenoaks to Wadhurst is always popular and thus extremely competitive. There is currently an upbeat, fluid market for properties of all types.
Kent also has a thriving second home and investment market, centred on Whitstable and Canterbury. This already popular area should continue to grow enormously as the 2009 start date for the high speed commuting service draws closer, with Canterbury to central London in around an hour. County Homesearch is also investing in this area and has a full-time consultant operating from Canterbury.
East Sussex provides a more relaxed, peaceful way of life. Whether one is seeking the rolling downs or the quiet beaches, the county has plenty to offer. Lewes and the Ashdown Forest are always popular, with excellent commutes and good schools being the main draw.
Brighton is a bustling, thriving microcosm, with excellent commuter links and a thriving local economy. The property market continues to be buoyant in the town, with everything from sea-view coastal apartments to the classic Georgian townhouses proving popular.

Infrastructure
Transport is what really makes Kent the thriving county that it currently is. Few towns are far from the M25 or excellent fast commuting services to London. Gatwick Airport is close at hand (within an hour of the major commuting towns) and the channel tunnel and ferries are similarly well positioned. With the ongoing investment in both the High Speed rail link and Gatwick airport, commuting times will decrease and options increase.
Schooling has long been the second major draw into the county. The Grammar school system is alive and well (and producing country leading results) and this is supported by some excellent primary schools. The independent sector is also well catered for, with some of the countries top performing schools at both prep and senior levels, located in the county.
