Chichester

Chichester, situated on the south coast, is the Cathedral city and county town of West Sussex. It is famous for its flourishing art scene and is particularly notable for its exceptional collection of 20th century British Modern Art at the Cathedral and Pallant House Gallery.

The city is home to the world-renowned Chichester Festival Theatre whose annual summer season attracts the highest calibre of actors, writers and directors and is widely considered one of the most important annual events in British theatre. Indeed the quality of the performances of its Festival Theatre are generally recognised, by theatrical professionals, as one of the prime venues outside of London’s “West End”.

With its cross-shaped shopping streets, Chichester is renowned for its shopping and is one of the most attractive shopping areas in the south. Everything is in a compact area and its pedestrianised streets make browsing easy.
