Arundel

Arundel is situated close to the mid point of the South Downs, with a skyline dominated by Arundel Castle. The castle was established at the time of the Norman Conquest. It has been home to the Dukes of Norfolk since the 1500’s. The castle is beautifully maintained and has been restored through the ages. Although it is still a private home, it is open to visitors between April and October.

Arundel has a rich mixture of medieval and Victorian architecture, cobbled streets and narrow lanes which house many antique shops, craft shops, tea rooms and restaurants.
