Holt
Well known to Home Counties and London buyers, Holt is arguably Norfolk’s (and possibly East Anglia’s) most attractive small town. Set away from the coastal road’s summer logjam problems, the town is nevertheless 15 minutes on pretty back roads from Cley and Blakeney. Originally of Saxon origins but largely rebuilt following a fire
in the early 18th
century, Holt is a great place for shopping or browsing around the many art and crafts galleries. Especially recommended for snacks, meals and indeed accommodation is the rather wonderful Byfords: www.byfords.org.uk.
