Framlingham
Framlingham stands out as one of Suffolk’s most vibrant, community-led market towns, evidence of which is clear from its website: www.framlingham.com. The market square is a wonderful place to browse for a few hours, sampling its excellent delicatessen, coffee shop, timber-framed pub of the ‘beams and open fire’ variety, and several interesting little independent shops. On a practical level the schooling is of a high standard and it has everyday banking and shopping facilities, though you’ll need to trek to Ipswich for larger supermarkets. Framlingham may lack the sea, but what it loses to Southwold and Aldeburgh it gains in sheer community spirit and character.
