Finchingfield

Finchingfield is a really charming village with thatched cottages and other attractive buildings spread round a sloping green. It’s one of Essex’s finest villages, with a layout that seems to have evolved naturally with no apparent planning. It’s probably this aspect of the village that endows it with such character and appeal at any time of the year. The Fox is a decent pub dating from Tudor times and overlooking the pond and green. Roger Beckwith’s website is informative and interesting.
