East Lothian
The towns and villages of East Lothian have proved to be popular with families looking for an alternative to the rush of the city. Yet Edinburgh is very close for business and cultural activities when desired, particularly from the popular town of Haddington.
The proximity to Edinburgh combined with the more relaxed lifestyle means there is always a demand for good properties. For schooling, there are independent schools in Musselburgh, Haddington and Dunbar. If you like the outdoors, there are miles of coastline to explore, as well as the Lammermuir hills to climb.
East Lothian is home to many golf courses including Muirfield, a regular on the Open Championship circuit. The area is steeped in history with many churches and castles to visit, and the National Museum of Flight offers tours of Concorde.
