High Street Kensington and Notting Hill
High Street Kensington is a busy and international shopping area. Accommodation here is primarily in the form of large, portered buildings which offer a good amount of apartment living very near to the tube station. To the north of ‘Ken High Street’ are the areas of Holland Park and Notting Hill. Famously portrayed in a Film of the same name, these areas in West London are wealthy and trendy – Georgian and Victorian houses and cottages have preserved this areas’ village feel. The areas’ Portobello market is a top destination for Londoners and tourists alike. It runs every day except Sunday and has for sale everything from antiques to fruit and veg. The Notting Hill Carnival which runs through the streets towards the end of August is the largest street festival in the world after Rio – and is great fun.
