Lancaster

Lancaster began life as a Roman Fort in 80AD. It is now a vibrant University city with cobbled streets lined with smart stone houses, lively shops, bars and restaurants.

Lancaster has a good choice of housing, a growing University  and a thriving arts and music scene, as well as being a stone’s throw from the coast and having easy access to the Lake District.

Situated on the River Lune and Lancaster Canal, properties in Lancaster include Georgian houses, Victorian terraces and modern riverside apartments

Culture vultures can visit the Castle, the Ashton Memorial in stunning Williamson Park, visit the many local galleries or take in a show at The Dukes or the Grand.

By train, Lancaster is 20 minutes to Preston or an hour to Manchester.  Windermere is 30 minutes away.  The M6 passes to the east of the city making Lancaster extremely accessible for commuting to the north or south.
