Ross-on-Wye

Ross-on-Wye
Ross-on-Wye is situated at the gateway to the Wye Valley in the county of Herefordshire in a dramatic setting that emphasises the spectacular surrounding countryside. Deep in the countryside, Ross is close to the spectacular beauty spot at Symonds Yat where the river Wye courses through a gorge carved from the limestone cliffs Ross has long been a haunt of artists, writers and poets; and is celebrated for its international Music Festival which takes place  in August on the banks of the river. Ross is within easy reach of Hereford, Worcester and Gloucester (each with their own cathedrals and the ‘Three Choirs’ festival), and is an excellent gateway to the Brecon Beacons, Malvern Hills and the Forest of Dean.
