Malmesbury

Set on a hilltop in ancient Wessex, and with a renowned Abbey, Malmesbury is the oldest borough in England. In contrast it is also the British HQ of the Dyson engineering company. The town has doubled its population within the last century, reflecting its dynamic outlook and excellent position within Gloucestershire. There is a good range of local shops, business parks and new housing developments, making Malmesbury an ideal mix of old and new. Surrounded by picturesque villages, Malmesbury has easy access to local towns such as Tetbury – an old rival – and Cirencester, as well as Bath and Bristol further afield. Kemble railway station provides a good rail link to London (1h20) as well as to the West, and via Cheltenham, to the Midlands and North. The M4 is within a few miles of the town.
