Reading
Modern Reading is a revelation to most people. Its historic importance as the county town of Royal Berkshire, is often overshadowed by the fact most people know Reading as a major transport interchange, and as a major commercial centre, capital of the Thames Valley economic region.
It is a modern cosmopolitan city with excellent shopping centres (The Oracle, and Broad Street Mall). It is on the Great Western Line to London Paddington Station with a journey time of approximately 30 minutes and has a range of restaurants and bars as well as quieter areas such as Caversham with its river walks.
The town centre is popular with young professionals who have an excellent choice of modern apartment blocks and there is a thriving university. It has a large business community centred on Reading Business Park and is close to the M4 motorway providing good transport links to London and Heathrow.
