Amersham
Amersham with an approximate population of 20,000 is broadly split in two, Amersham-on-the-Hill and ‘The Old Town’, the former having been developed in the 1930’s when the Metropolitan Railway arrived and later when the line was electrified as part of London’s underground network in the 1960s.
Amersham and Chesham Bois are home to professional couples and families who move to the area for the excellent schooling and commuter services as well as being surrounded by the beautiful Chiltern countryside.
The historic Old Town was established in the 15th and 16th Centuries but many of the buildings were substantially altered in the Georgian era and face each other across the wide high street now including a delightful mix of private houses and cottages, fashion shops, restaurants, pubs and business premises.
